#525 Being His Valiant Warrior Zephaniah 3.17; Ephesians 6:13-17
We are thankful to our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus for being in the midst of our hearts and experiences as our Valiant Warriors. And we are so grateful for the privilege that we can be Valiant Warriors with God and Christ, able to endure hardness – undergo hardship as a soldier of Christ. 2 Tim 2.3 Verse 4 paraphrased: No one who serves in the military entwines himself with transactions and focuses on being busy with this life, in order that they may please the one who enlisted him as a warrior: We are enlisted with the purpose of being victorious and Valiant in the warfare, which certainly demands this ‘un-entwined-focus’!
The first step to be un-entangled or un-entwined in the affairs of this life, to be Their Valiant Warrior, is a mindset defined by the Armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-17
Here is our daily and life-long determination and commitment:
*I will put on the girdle of truth: the armor girdle kept flowing garments in place, it supported the body and kept all parts of the armor in place.
I will have the mindset which calls to mind The Truth which braces us up, girds us for constancy, firmness and spiritual coordination. I will remember that Your perspective and Truth are continually made available to me as I wholeheartedly seek this Truth according to my need and what I am ready for. John 16:12
*I will put on the breastplate of righteousness (#1343): equity of character or act, justification:
I will live the mindset of determination of righteousness in thought and action and with consciousness and assurance of justification. I will remember that I am ‘accepted in the beloved’ and empowered to live righteously in this mortal body. Ephesians 1:6, Romans 8:11 *I will put on the helmet of salvation (#4992): defense, from 4991 rescue, safety
I will live the mindset and conviction of rescue and deliverance which protects our thinking and life. I will remember with gratitude that You, Heavenly Father always lead us to triumph in Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14 I will remember to expect YOUR victory in YOUR time and way. *I will put on the sandals of peace: I will have the mindset to walk forward on rough terrain of life because of the Gospel of Peace and Blessing for all is my cause. This view of Blessing makes me prepared and ready for the rough ground in our walk—we are cushioned by the conviction and inspiration of Highest Blessing for the followers of Christ, for Israel and for our whole human family. I will remember this cause of Blessing-for-all especially when the road gets rough.
*I will put on the shield of faith:
I will put on the mindset of trust that protects and extinguishes the destructive attempts of Satan. I will remember that You are Both worthy of complete trust in every circumstance and challenge. Deuteronomy 7:9, Revelation 19:11; 1 Corinthians 10:13
*I will pray, open to Your guidance through the holy Spirit, praying always with prayer and supplication, watching and keeping awake in prayer with all persistence and with requests on behalf of my Brethren. Ephesians 4:18 We will come boldly and valiantly to the throne of Grace, knowing that They are responding to our need and the needs of our fellow soldiers, for compassion and grace to stabilize and help. Hebrews 4:16
