#378 Beside Still Waters Psalm 23
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.”
The God who keeps His promises has committed Himself to guide and care for us, and the result is that we shall lack nothing that we truly need.
Surrender of our needs gives Him the space to supply them according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters.”
Sometimes, by sickness or circumstance, He slows us down to a halt. He enforces a time to rest in a place where we can be spiritually fed.
He leads us beside calm and stabilizing Truth.
“He restoreth my soul.”
He delights to restore our soul! He delights to turn us around, to turn us back to the paths of our spiritual life and vitality! Isaiah 57:15
When He MAKES us lie down by these still waters in His creative overruling of our circumstance, it is a matter of surrendering our PERCEPTION of weakness, failure and circumstance (which is our reasoning and story) and asking for the supply of HIS perception (which is Truth).
O LORD, Lead us and guide us into Your Truth. Psalm 25:3-4
So much of what He supplies us with is by reviving our perspective with His!
“You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.”
Psalm 18:28-29 NIV
You are the constant source of my direction and inspiration ; You transform my perception of discouragement into the light of Your truth; with Your help I can go forward to deal with any obstacle.
