Can a person worthy of Heaven be OK with others going to Hell?
This is one of the biggest psychological stumbling blocks I have with the Abrahamic faiths. In this life we are supposed to love our neighbors as ourselves, heal others' sufferings, etc. But in Heaven we're just supposed to forget about the torment our kin go through in Hell? Just be callous then?
Answer:
The problem isn’t with the Abrahamic faiths, its with the misconceptions of what those faiths are—especially by those that purport to hold them.
Hell is a man made doctrine devised to control people. Borrowed by the Catholic Church way in the past and so entrenched in its doctrines that when the Protestants broke away they took that concept with them.
It is not Biblical.
Hell simply put is the grave—we all go there. It is a state of unconsciousness. There are many scriptures that say the “dead know not anything”, death is a sleep—that fact is recounted over and over again in the book of Kings and even Jesus says it about Lazarus and it is stated elsewhere, but many who claim Christ will fight you tooth and nail on this subject though there are abundant scriptures.
Another essential doctrine lost in the Dark Ages is the resurrection of the dead. That is the whole point of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. He bought Father Adam back from the dead by being his ransom.
Those worthy to go to heaven—have put their selves on the altar of sacrifice and are willing to die for God. It is a life long process of transforming ourselves into the Mind of Christ. If, we are faithful unto death—then we get the crown of life. If, we finish the race set before us—then we are given the prize.
What is heaven? A big party? No! A lot of Christians think it is, but that is not what the scriptures say. Heaven is a job. The job Christians are applying for is to be Kings and Priests with Jesus.
The Bible promises a resurrection of the dead.
The just (those who are justified and they are the heavenly class) and the unjust—that is everyone else.
The resurrection of the heavenly class is called the “first resurrection”
As kings they rule with Jesus (over who?) Over those in the 2nd Resurrection
As priests, they are ministers of reconciliation with Jesus (over who?) Over those in the 2nd Resurrection.
This is the point of the Kingdom we pray for when God’s will is done on the earth as it is in heaven. At least that is what I am praying for.
There is no looking down on people writhing in pain while everyone on it heaven is having a party. Or there is no mind wipe of those in heaven so they are not miserable ( I have heard that explanation too)
When rightly understood it is all beautiful and there is a hope for everyone not just a few. God is good! and God is love. God would never torment anyone for eternity—that is a doctrine of demons.
