Conflict as a Call to Loving Action

#304 Conflict as a Call to Loving Action
Luke 6.27-28
I am challenged to let go of blame and resentment in regard to some choices that people in my life are making. Sister Bobby shared the verses and thoughts indented below, and the Lord used these thoughts to give me a glimpse into His infinite wisdom. Psalm 147:5 When you compare blame and resentment to the privilege of standing for eternal good and blessing, the view of blame and resentment becomes obviously finite: puny, quite miserable, limiting and destructive to spiritual inspiration and growth!
~~Genesis 50:20 “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass as it is this day, to save much people alive.” I love the story of Joseph and his forgiving spirit. It freed him to do great things as God had planned for him all along.
Regardless of the intentions of Satan or people, God’s cause is way bigger and WILL triumph. The purpose behind the challenges is Deliverance: the saving of life, the Eternal Blessing of all people. The issues at stake are way bigger than our strong preferences and short sighted opinions. Any conflict and humiliation DOES have the potential to FREE us to fulfill God’s purpose.
~~I Corinthians 4:12 “Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it.” How to love those who would do us harm – July 2 Manna
Maybe one purpose for the conflicts of life is to wake us up to loving action on behalf of others: LOVE your enemies, DO GOOD to those who hate you, BLESS those who curse you, PRAY for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28
I would not be moved to pray or act on behalf of certain people in such a focused way if I wasn’t in conflict with them! Maybe the very conflict is God’s way to give me the opportunity to bless someone, and to be open to HOW to love, HOW to do good, HOW to bless and How to pray for them.
Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud. Maya Angelou
We had a parable study last week on The Lost Sheep. Luke 15:3-7; Matthew 18:11-14 Jesus attitude toward the Publican’s and Sinners who had lost their way was diametrically opposed to the view of the Scribes and Pharisees who were outwardly more righteous, but really didn’t care about anyone but themselves. Luke 18:11
It is moving to see the heart of Jesus: the struggles and wandering of people is not a call to dismiss them.
It is a call to FIND them, and to seek to be part of their freedom and blessing.
He has been so faithful to me, his tenacious love that seeks me when I lose my way.
And that tenacious love draws me to love others with tenacity when they lose their way.
Teach us to love with this tenacious love.
