#612 Content Whatever Lot I See Part 2
When we pray with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:8) we are proving we know He is Faithful by trusting that Faithfulness. We are thankful for the Divine intention for permitting or creating this experience—because we know it is for our growth and our Highest Good. Romans 8:28 We are thankful for the need, the conflict, the dilemma, because we know it is our opportunity to see His Power and Love manifested in our experience. We are thankful for the answer, guidance, and deliverance even before we see it because we know that it is in process.
From the challenging circumstance of prison Paul wrote: “Now I have everything I want—in fact I am rich. Yes, I am quite content, thanks to your gifts received through Epaphroditus.” Philippians 4:18
Our contentment comes not from the circumstance, but from Who He is, our relationship to Him and gratitude for however He provides. Whatever the outcome of the experience the most important outcome is the condition of our heart which produces the most important final outcome: to glorify His name. Paul had proven His faithfulness in prison and in a myriad of needs and challenges, and so he could confidently declare: “My God will supply all that you need from his glorious resources in Christ Jesus. And may glory be to our God and our Father forever and ever, amen!” Philippians 4:19
