#636 Courage to Go Forward
It has been a blessing and a source of courage to meditate on the difference between our resurrected Lord Jesus as Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Revelation 5:5-6, in comparison with Satan, as a roaring lion, 1 Peter 5:8.
Satan uses his usurped power to intimidate, immobilize and destroy the Lord's people.
Jesus uses his holy power to defend and protect us: Note that in these verses in Revelation 5:5-6 our resurrected Lord is pictured as and Lion from the tribe of Judah as well as a Lamb whose sacrifice had been completed. Note the humility and spirit of deliverance at the cost of his sacrifice that identifies him as the Lamb that was slain, as well as the amazing power of the Lion, exercising all power in heaven and in earth to deliver and bless at the appropriate time. (The closest Satan comes to being identified as a lamb is his support of those who are wolves that look like sheep—wolves in sheep’s clothing! Matthew 7:15)
Any paralyzing overwhelm we may experience comes from the lion that seeks to devour, NOT from the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. We must recognize where debilitating overwhelm comes from, and trust the power of God and Christ to help us face issues and see them from Their perspective—we are never given more than we can handle in their strength! 1 Corinthians 10:13; 2 Corinthians 12:9
And there is a verse in Proverbs 30:30
"The lion which is mighty among beasts and does not retreat before any..."
Our glorified Lord will not retreat before any circumstance or threat!
And I hear his voice, and call upon it when I am faced with an intimidating situation:
I am with you, I will not retreat.
And so there is no reason for you to retreat or run away.
I am with you as you face this challenge.
"Arise, let us go hence"--Arise, let us go forward.
“The LORD will guard you from all harm;
He will guard your life.
The LORD will guard your going and coming
now and forever.” Psalm 121:7-8 Tanakh
