#294 Equipped to Face Whatever Comes
The Lord equips us for every challenge!
Another week of unexpected surprises in Christ…
The Lord equips us for every challenge, often by calling to mind what we need to remember through the work of the Holy spirit. John 14:26 Some previous lessons have been coming to mind, the Lord equipping me to deal with every challenge.
I will look for and embrace Jesus in every experience.
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:22-23
Part of the marvelous miracle of this day is that our eyes are open to LOVE the one who was despised and rejected of men. 1 Peter 2:5 Jesus is the chief cornerstone, he is our Life, he is the Stone by which the Temple of God is measured and patterned by, and we KNOW it and surrender to the work of the Master Builder so that the pattern our lives is after his holy example.
This brings me to a penetrating question: Who, or what may I be rejecting in my life, that is meant to be accepted as what the Master Builder has ordained as vital to the up-building of His Temple?
Rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus!!! This is the day which the LORD has made; I will accept the gift in every turn of events and rejoice in every circumstance. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
I will look for and trust in His will and providence in the making and in the outcome of business plans or personal goals. “If it is the Lord’s will, we shall live and do this or that.”
We have the responsibility to prayerfully WONDER and open our mind to what is His will, then to make a general plan, and then to hold that ‘general plan’ with a very light grip as we moment by moment seek His will. All kinds of surprises can come up, not interruptions, just the next one thing in Christ that we did not see ahead of time. We can then respond spontaneously to the step by step unfolding of His will.
James 4:15-17 Whether outcomes match what I think of as best or not, I will trust His will and providence come what may.
God has equipped me to deal with whatever experience comes my way.
"It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights." Psalm 18:22-23
The rough mountain terrain is perfect for a mountain goat. It provides a complete challenge, complete exhilaration, and complete practice for keeping their God-given legs in shape. The mountain is perfect for them because they have been created for the mountain. The 'perfection' of our way, our own mountain terrain of challenge is not because the rocks, the boulders and the incline in themselves are the perfect road to walk on, but because HE has given us the perfect 'feet' to match the challenge!
So I keep reminding myself:
This mountain challenge is perfect because He has given me feet to match the mountain.
