#718 Facing Change and the Unknown in Confidence
I find this a searching question:
Do you fear change more than you fear God?” HB
The answer to this question largely depends on what we are focusing on.
We can dwell in the challenge or we can dwell in Awe in His Presence.
(The LORD brought this to my heart to share again!) When we feel stress from uncertainty and the unknown, we can choose to dwell in His Majestic Presence in Reverence and Awe. We can ponder a promise and be in awe of what it means about Who He is and His commitment to each of us. We can gaze at His creation and experience the wonder of color and beauty.
“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And his children will have refuge.” Proverbs 14:26
Dwelling in the Truth of Who He is for us:
Psalm 34:7
‘YOU are my hiding place—my condition of safety;
YOU guard me from trouble;
YOU surround me with songs of deliverance’—You surround me with reasons to praise.
When we enter His presence, and we ponder the Promises and realize the depths of His Protection and Overruling Providence—all these forms of deliverance bring us from fear to Praise. Every Focus on His Deliverance and Overruling Providence frees us to sing—free us to praise Him.
We can dwell in Truth or we can dwell in imagination and our limited perceptions.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…”
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
We can dwell in “What if” or we can Dwell in “I Know.”
“For we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8.28
HE WILL PROVIDE for our deepest need according to the inexhaustible resources our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ with all power in heaven and in earth. Philippians 4.19
