#567 Facing the Challenge in the Beauty of Holiness
“Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of the mighty, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to His name;” NASB
Psalm 29:1-2a
Ascribe—recognize Him and praise Him for His glory and strength.
Recognize and praise Him for the glory—the splendor, and the magnificence
of His character and all that He stands for.
“Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” KJV Psalm 29:2b
The same Hebrew words are used in 2 Chronicles 20:21 in the phrase “holy attire.” The phrase refers to the garments of the Levites, and in Psalm 110:3, the garments of the Priesthood.
Worship the LORD—bow down in adoration and praise in the beautiful garment of the heart attitude of holy righteous devotion—an attitude and heart’s desire of being set apart wholehearted for His will and service.
Being wholeheartedly set apart for His will and service rivets our focus to Who He Is—on His glory and strength and the power He exercises on our behalf and throughout His unfolding plan.
Thus clothed in wholehearted devotion and surrender WE WILL NOT EXALT THE STORM--
WE WILL EXALT HIM for HIS POWER THROUGH AND OVER THE STORM! Psalm 29:3-9, 10-11
"For this God is our God forever and ever:
He will be our guide even unto death."
Psalm 48:14
