#450 Faithful in the Hour Part 1
“These things Jesus spoke; and lifting up his eyes to heaven he said, ‘Father, the hour has come; glorify Thy Son, that the Son may glorify Thee…’” John 17:1
“Be not afraid of sudden fear neither of the desolation {7722 to rush over; a tempest, by implication devastation] of the wicked when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Proverbs 3:25-26
The hour was upon him. This was the hour of darkness. Luke 22:53 He knew clearly the pain and humiliation this hour would bring upon him. Matthew 20:18-19; Luke 18:31-33
This was the hour he was born to fulfill. John 12:27
Be not afraid of sudden tempest of testing and evil
“The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious;
I have not drawn back.
I offered my back to those who beat me,
My cheeks to those who pulled out my beard;
I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.
For the LORD shall be thy confidence
Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced.
Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
He who vindicates me is near.
Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other!
Who is my accuser? Let him confront me!
It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me.
Who is he that will condemn me?
The will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.” Isaiah 50:5-9
Glorify the Son so that the Son can glorify the Father….
Manifest Your staying power in my life, that I might demonstrate Your Strength and Plan of Deliverance to others.
We also have our hour to face, whatever the sudden tempest or storm of challenge.
The Sovereign LORD has opened our ears, and we will not be rebellious.
We will not draw back.
We will make the Cup of experience He pours our choice, and we will drink it,
For the LORD is our Confidence.
