What is a false prophet?
Everyone loves to post photos of all the Mega Church Pastors and the Pope and ones who name their ministries after themselves instead of giving God the glory. I don’t know if I would call them False Prophets, but the False Teachers the book of Jude warns us about.
Recently I have been added to a group that represents a whole country. I am not sure why I was added since I don’t even live on the same continent, but one of my friends from that country added me.
It is not necessarily a religious page, but there are plenty of religious posts and I say that very lightly.
I usually ignore those types of posts, but recently they have been getting under my skin. Today I came to the conclusion that those that make these posts are truly False Prophet.
Today’s post was: “Your sad story will change this week, in Jesus’ Name. Type Amen if you believe.”
The one that started my crusade for truth on this was: “A picture of Jesus where it says if you want 50 years of blessings and luck type Amen.”
Over seven hundred people typed Amen to this one, the one mentioned before is already over three hundred.
I replied to each one who typed Amen and told them God just doesn’t work that way and not to believe this deception. Today, I posted a little more information to each one who wrote Amen, before Facebook told me to slow down.
I did get some of these Ameners to comment back to me. One told me to buzz off and that I was of the devil, but the others wanted to know more about God. Today, one told me I was frightening her.
The most insightful comment I got was this: “Woooow that's so encouraging... Thank you so much for you advice. I wish I could get to know you much better... At times us Christians we seem to pray to much but God seems to take too long in answering our prayers is it because we don't know how to approach Him... Like me I just end up losing hope.”
That is the key, these people who trick others into typing “Amen” for blessings which will never come cause these same people to lose hope in God. These false prophets make God to look like a liar and make shipwreck of the faith of others.
It is up to you, the Christian, to know your God! Know what He is like, what He does, and how He works. Don’t be tricked by these false prophets. They are very dangerous.
