#599 Part 5 Father Glorify Thy Name --Possible when we Let Him Love us
Part of Letting Him Love us is inviting His spirit to open our minds to the ways we have chosen to define ourselves, and others, and to be open and eager to see ourselves the way He does.
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 We are to see no person in Christ according to the flesh, including ourselves. We face our imperfections and sin, we let Him sanctify and cleanse us, and we help one another in the same process. 1 John 1:9; James 5:16
All of us have had the experience of defining ourselves in some way because of things that happened in the past, starting even with childhood.
The truth is that we are HIS Workmanship. Ephesians 6:10
And part of the renewing of our minds is the re-defining of all of our thinking, including the stories we have made up about ourselves. Romans 12:2 That is the point of this verse in the song that was shared:
Every time you felt forgotten
little child unseen, alone--
let Me Love you through your stories.
Let my Love become your Home--
replacing every thought of failure,
sadness, insignificance.
With Depth of Love I see you through
My Son in perfect innocence.
…Casting down imaginations (and reasonings) and every high thing that exalts itself against God, and taking every thought captive to the obedience (attentive hearkening) of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV/NASB
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” Psalm 139:23-24
We become so easily attached to our perceptions, our opinions, our stories, and when the old mind chatter box (which is part of “the meditation of my heart” that needs transformation Psalm 19:14) keeps repeating these stories, we cannot hear His Voice clearly…
Oh may we let His love pierce through our stories and perceptions!
And thereby be freed from over-focus on self so that we are more fully free to love with Their Love. 1 John 4:19, 16-16
