#597 Father, Glorify Thy Name
This is the verse the Lord led me to as a focus in this New Year.
John 12:27-28 “Now my soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.
“Father, glorify Thy name.”
It gives me so much courage and strength focus on my Lord Jesus in his hour of greatest testing and challenge. He did not wish away the Cup, though he was honest as in Gethsemane—and ended that prayer with NEVERTHELESS Thy will be done.
When we get weary sometimes we wish the experiences would end. But the answer to this is a refocus from the experience to the depths of Love and Wisdom of the One who pours the Cup: Father Glorify Thy name.
We can hear Him speak to our heart: “These circumstance are purely for your testing and growth to MY GLORY.”
I pray for the continual focus “Father, glorify Thy name.”
We will not wish away the Cup He has poured!
We will welcome the privilege of drinking this Cup.
“What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits?
I WILL TAKE the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord
now in the presence of all his people.” Psalm 116:12-14
We are so grateful for the example of Jesus, for how he paid his vows in the presence of Your people, in his heart, in his earthly ministry, and completing those vows on Calvary, providing such a powerful example of love and the means of blessing now and to come.
May we express our love and vows to You in our hearts, in our daily ministry, and in our daily desire to fulfill Your will for the blessing of others now and in our future ministry. James 2:15-18, 1:25-27; Romans 8:18-21
Focus on “Father, Glorify Thy name” opens our heart to experience true joy, the joy that living in Jesus sacrificial love gives us as we go forward trusting through whatever may lie ahead. John 15:10-11; Romans 15:13
“Arise, let us go hence”—let us go forward in the strength of the Joy set before us, in his Peace and in his Love, ready and willing to meet every challenge in Their strength. John 14:31
