#542 Freedom from the Trap of Old Thinking Part 2
When we fear a particular circumstance or outcome our old thinking may take us to fear, detailed analysis—over-focus on the obstacle, and a plan to by our own efforts control events. We cannot depend on outside circumstance or people or our control for our well being and peace!
Here are some ‘stones from the brook’ to inspire us when dealing with this Giant. 1 Samuel 17:40
Two Sisters share thoughts on Facebook, and they were such a blessing to me I am sharing them here.
*When you have nothing left but God, then for the first time you become aware that God is enough.‖ His grace is sufficient.
*This is how I felt when I first made my consecration ever since then it has stayed that way ..... whom have I in heaven but you? And besides you , I desire nothing on earth ... Psalm 73:25
I appreciate this also. It doesn't work when I get distracted and want to depend on circumstances or people for encouragement. "I can do all things through CHRIST..." NOT through outcomes and people, except as they are used by Them, "who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
“My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken…Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.” Psalm 52:5-8
“In repentance and rest you shall be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 NASB Our deliverance comes from listening to Him and His will and resting in His word and will. Our strength is in peace, confidence and trust in Him, knowing His way is Best.
“But you were not willing, And you said, ‘no, for we will flee on horses,’ Therefore you shall flee! ” Isaiah 30:15b-16
O may we be willing to Trust Him, and to Obey Him, come what may!
“Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; how blessed are all those who wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18 NASB/Tanakh
