Full of Sap Part 2

A sister asked me “What is sap?” That question has led to a deeper appreciation of for the spiritual process that God has created, and a greater awareness of how to let Him work spiritual growth through His Truth.
#245B Full of Sap Psalm 92.14
“They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green,
to declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Psalm 92:14-15
The phrase for “full of sap” (NASB) is Strong’s #1879, and means to be fat, rich, fertile. “And very green” is #7488, and means to be green, verdant; new, figuratively prosperous. These words describe a healthy tree. And the only way a tree can be fertile and green is through the process of photosynthesis .
[The trunk] acts as the central "plumbing system" in a tree, forming a network of tubes that carries water and minerals up from the roots to the leaves, and food (sugar) from the leaves down to the branches, trunk, and roots.
From skinny pine needles to broad palm leaves, all tree leaves serve the same purpose—to make food for the tree. Leaves use carbon dioxide from the air, water from the roots and the sun's energy (in the form of sunlight) to make sugar (glucose). This food-making chemical reaction is called photosynthesis.
The vibrant health of a tree is not just dependent on the roots absorption of mineral rich water. It is also necessary for that water to travel up to the leaves and then to be converted to food, spiritual photosynthesis. It is not enough to read and hear Truth. The water of Truth must become our food, our energy source for spiritual growth and the fruit of action. When we let the Word of God exercise its power in us, His Word will affect our deepest thoughts and it will affect our actions. “Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being, and in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.” Psalm 51:6
The conversion of the water of Truth into food.
Psalm 1:2-3 describes a righteous person before God: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he mediates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.” Not only do we make the effort to read and hear the Word of God, we meditate on it so that it flows entirely through our spiritual life to meet with the Light of Christ. In this process of meditation before God, principles of Truth are converted to food, the energy source that makes outward fruitage and growth possible.
In this mediation process we can pray:
Lord, speak to me through this Word, this teaching, this doctrine.
How can this Truth adjust how I see myself, how I see others, how I see this circumstance?
How can this Word make me aware of something to adjust in thinking or lifestyle that I did not see before?
Show me how to be who I was created in Christ to be, and what to stand for through this Word.
The spiritual vitality of our lives is dependent on principles converted into a way of thinking, seeing and listening to God, which then to leads to action and lifestyle. Trust in God’s unfailing love in every circumstance empowers us to praise Him for whatever He does.
Trust in the name of God, Jehovah, the God who keeps His promises and covenants, and the God who creates promises and covenants of the highest good of all His human Creation, makes us able to have hope in every circumstance.
WE cannot help but share Who He is with others.
“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
I will praise you forever for what you have done;
In your name I will hope, for your name is good.
I will praise you in the presence of your saints.” Psalm 52:8-9
