Full of Sap Part 3

#246 Full of Sap Psalm 92.14 Part 3
I have been encouraged by so many of our Brethren.
And I have looked up to so many of our older Brethren as the years have gone by.
“They will still yield fruit in old age;
they shall be full of sap and very green,
to declare that the LORD is upright;
He is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”
Psalm 92:14-15
One Sister wrote something that I will always treasure:
My life is FULL of blessings—joyful, delightful ones, but we must have the sobering events that force us to take a periodic inventory. There were many tears and heartaches along the way, but the MERCY of our God is infinite.
Now I am white and wrinkled and walk with a walker around the house or get pushed in a wheelchair when I leave the house. I sleep and I study and I sleep and I write to shut-ins and I sleep and I attend three meetings a week and I sleep and I love to hear about and encourage my children’s privileges of service, and I sleep.
There are so many “trees of righteousness” deeply rooted, standing faithful through the years.
You inspire me with your perseverance and passion for God and Christ, despite the challenges of age.
I look at your lives, which can include that frustration about the limitations and adjustments that come with age, and I see the desire to give your all to the Lord. I see your efforts amid the limitations and all of it, including the limitations, endears you to my heart. I know the LORD sees you in this light of full perspective.
And then I am reminded that He sees all of us in the Panoramic view, with a depth of love and mercy that we cannot comprehend. It reminds me to be patient with all, including myself.
He sees our limitations, He sees our desire to give our all to Him.
He sees our efforts amid the limitations, and all of it, including the limitations we seek daily to overcome and deal with in a Godly way, endears us to His heart.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.” Psalm 103:12-14
