Gospel of Thomas Question:

Did Jesus really say this and what is his meaning ?
19 Jesus said, "Blessed is he who came into being before he came into being. If you become my disciples and listen to my words, these stones will minister to you. For there are five trees for you in Paradise which remain undisturbed summer and winter and whose leaves do not fall. Whoever becomes acquainted with them will not experience death."
Answer:
What you are quoting is not in the Scriptures. There is no gospel of Thomas in my Bible. If these words do not harmonize with what is in the Bible, then I would have to question their authority. It is by two or more witnesses that a thing may be established---I know of no other scripture in the Bible that harmonizes with this quote
In the Scriptures--paradise is only used once with the thief on the cross---paradise is the earthly phase of the Kingdom. Disciples of Christ--are not promised earth, but heaven--to sit on the throne with God and Jesus--not trees.
