#541 He Restores my Soul
“He restores my soul.” Psalm 23:3
I have come to pray these words often.
The word restore means to turn—to turn back or away. When something alarming or challenging happens we can pray ‘Restore my soul’—and claim Divine power to turn away from the problem and to turn to HIM for help and guidance. He restores our soul through Christ when He provides the Perfect Promise to claim for our present need. He restores our soul in Christ through the memory of Challenge accompanied by Providence and Scripture deliverance. The power and influence of the holy Spirit will remind us of all our Lord Jesus has said to us through his word in recorded scripture and through his word in our experiences. John 14:26 This turns our focus away from the waves and the wind to the face of our Precious Savior. Matthew 14:22-33
They restore our soul by bringing us back to healthy spiritual thought diet.
No more ‘junk food’! Philippians 4:8
“I look to Thee in every need, and never look in vain;
I feel Thy strong and tender Love, and all is well again.
The thought of Thee is mightier far
Than sin and pain and sorrow are.” R 5934
