#491 He Stands at the Door of our Hearts Revelation 3.20
The din of conflict and sorrow is very loud and our hearts are moved in prayer for the healing and blessing of the Kingdom.
Whether the din is current events or personal issues, what do we focus on? Who and what do we allow to enter through the door of our affections and attention?
“Behold I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 This verse is part of the message to the last stage of the Gospel Age Church, the Church of Laodicea. It is prophetic of our Lord’s return and the privileges of receiving from Jesus the spiritual feast due to be given in the Harvest period, the meat or food given in due season, at the proper time. Matthew 24:45
There is also an application of the principles in this verse to our everyday life:
Jesus stands at the door of our hearts and knocks.
A daily prayer: Open our ears to hear his voice over the din of circumstance.
Awaken us to open our hearts and minds to him as our welcome guest so that he can provide the spiritual food we need.
He desires to provide the truth of the Divine Love and Plan so that we can see through his eyes.
He provides spiritual perspective and he partakes of that nourishment WITH US as an expression of his covenant of friendship, fellowship and commitment.
What food are we partaking of? From the hand of old thinking and worldly wisdom (a sure fire way to experience spiritual indigestion) or from the hand of Christ?
