How Do We Prepare for the Great Tribulation?
You don’t want to prepare for it, you need to avoid it.
Mat_24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Mar_13:18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
Luk_21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Isa_57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
Each of these scriptures is talking about the Great Tribulation/Great Time of Trouble.
If you are of the Elect (Little Flock, Bride of Christ, The Elect, Wise Virgins, Wheat, Elijah in type etc.) you will be taken before this time. And by taken, I mean put to death in the flesh. From my studies, the time this happens is the “hour of Power” of the beast in Revelation—the Man of Sin, the Antichrist. We see in Daniel and Revelation that when this beast arises out of the sea (Rev. 13) it makes “war with the saints”—that is, it will put them to death.—Note: that this is the “harvest time”, and not the Great Time of Trouble.
Just as in the Elijah picture he was taken in a whirlwind and fiery chariot—which shows trouble—that trouble did not affect Elisha. Why? (that is another study)
There are two different classes of Christians pictured in the scriptures—the Little Flock and the Great Multitude. We, as Christians, have only “one hope”, but there are in fact two main different rewards (as star differeth from star in glory).
The Little Flock does not go through the Great Tribulation, but the Great Multitude does. We don’t want to be Great Multitude —they don’t get to sit on the throne with Jesus.
In types we see them as: Lot, Elisha, Foolish Virgins, Levites, scapegoat and more. Again, we don’t want to be of that class, because they fail to obtain the prize of the high calling.
Both classes must die in the flesh—because both are not of the earth.
So, if your question really means, How do we ride out the Great Tribulation?—if you are a Christian, you don’t. You die, willingly.
If you want to avoid the Great Tribulation, you need to “run the race set before you”, not walk, not sit down and take a break—-Run with all you have. It is simple—just not easy. You need to study and know God’s Word, so that you will not be deceived—because we are told that all will be deceived except the elect—Matt. 24:24. The Great Multitude will be deceived for a time and that one reason they must enter into the Great Tribulation. The other is to wash their robes (because they failed to keep them cleaned on their own) in the blood of the Lamb. Because in the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins—they were not prepared and didn’t bring enough extra oil. Because in the type of Lot, they stayed in Sodom and Gomorrah even though they were vexed daily. In the Scapegoat type—they were not sacrificed, but had to be turned over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh.
The choices you make to today to do the will of God (or not) will determine if you will see the Great Tribulation. So, lay aside the sin that so easily besets you and RUN!
