#546 How to Rejoice in the Midst of Whatever Happens Part 2
In His presence is fullness of joy… Psalm 16:11
James 4:8 gives us insight into what can help us experience the joy of being near to Him.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8
Cleanse your hands: O Lord, wash my use of power, what I choose to focus on in thought and how I choose to act which comes from what I focus on. “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:15-16, Psalm 19:14
Purify your hearts, you double-minded: Purify me, Heavenly Father, from gazing too long at the obstacle, dividing my focus from You and from my Lord Jesus. Matthew 14:26-32
Psalm 16:11 “’In the presence of the Lord is fullness of joy,” “no matter what may be the condition and circumstances." R1949 “I've made this my New Year's ‘ReVolution.’ “ Thank you, Sister Estelle!
(And for the new creature, how appropriate to have this renewing of mind be our New Year’s ReVolultion! Romans 12:1, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
