How will Jesus's second coming happen?
How will Jesus's second coming happen?
Will there be warning signs or no? I heard some people think the second coming was actually the first Easter, is that true? And will there be a rapture?
Answer:
Huge subject.
First one has to know that there are 3 different words to describe Jesus' coming.
In Matt. 24 the disciples as what the signs of his coming are.
#1 we know that there will be signs. Have to understand chapter 24,25 to know what the signs are. Don't need signs if everything is self evident.
#2 take a look at the word for "coming" when the disciples ask. It doesn't mean coming--it means "presence" that is they are asking what are the signs we need to look for to know that you are already here?
Then there is another word used in conjunction with the word "parousia" (coming, presence) and that is Epiphania--which means brightness. The scriptures that talk about this directly--using that word are a handful and Matthew 24 also brings in the concept, though not that word. The Epiphania has to do with the completion of the church, the Bride. Other scriptures that figure in here are the parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins, the wheat and the tares, types like Elijah and Elisha, Gideon and more. In Revelation where it talks about the plagues--between the 6th and the 7th it says Jesus comes as a thief--he comes to take his Bride home at that point--that is the Epiphania. Just as Jesus had to endure death at the hands of his enemies, so his Bride will be put to death by the Antichrist system at the end of the age--upon death is when they are changed in an instant, in a twinkling of an eye. Revelation 14 gives us this time frame. It is not until the Image of the beast is vitalized and worshipped does this time happen. Verse 13 says, Henceforth---" Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." That means it didn't happen before.
There is one last word and that is the word Revelation itself--Greek Apokalupsis. The scriptures that say "every eye will see him", "he comes in great glory" and so forth apply to this time frame. By this time the faithful Christians of both classes (Bride of Christ and Great Multitude) have both had a heavenly resurrection. This Revelation is to the world of mankind. This event ends Jacob's Trouble (Jer. 30, Ez. 38,39, Zech 12, 14, Isa. 4:3). This event also ushers in the Kingdom which all Christians pray for--though few ever give thought to what it really is.
