#722 Instinctive Trust
“I am the Lord your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Psalm 81.10
The Lord brought this thought to mind: We are invited to be open to receive His Blessing, in WHATEVER FORM it may come, for He has proven His delivering power and wisdom. And after we open our mouths to receive His provision, it is our privilege is to absorb the Blessing for our strengthening and growth in Christ.
And then as a result of back and forth texting with a Dear Sister and a Dear Brother the Lord added to the first blessing, added blessing and nourishment through fellowship- synergy of our Brethren.
OPEN your mouth—“when we depend on the Lord for nourishment, like a baby bird, we can appreciate the ways in which He fills us…with the sustenance of His word and promises. With songs of praise, prayers of thanksgiving…”
This perspective adds the thought of being EAGER to receive.
“a good reminder for a heavy heart…I think of those little baby birds with their necks outstretched and their heads lifted to the sky”
toward the Mother Bird. (Continuing the analogy of Deuteronomy 32:10-11 ! )
My Dear Brother texted: “Good picture. That bird knows it’s mother will feed it nourishing food. Never questions or second guesses, it just receives. Our faith should grow to such an instinctive trust!”
(See also Psalm 84:2-34-7, a similar lesson, and we as new creatures are the sparrow finding our home and sense of belonging in the condition of sacrifice.)
May we be EAGER to receive the nourishment He provides, the nourishment in every experience through the sustenance of His Word and Promises, never doubting the wisdom behind the experiences He chooses! And may our faith grow to Instinctive Trust!
