Jesus' Last Prayer part 3

There are some experiences among our Brethren that are very difficult and long lasting. There are experiences we just don’t understand.
The same can be true of our own personal experiences.
It is a great comfort to know that Jesus loves us all more than we know how to love one another and ourselves.
Our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ stand for our victory in the bond of their own fellowship.
With prayers for the keeping power of God and Christ on your behalf,
Joy
#228 Jesus Last Prayer and the Joy that Prayer Imparts John 17 #3
Perhaps he gazed into the face of each one who stood with him in prayer. He spoke of these followers as a gift from the Father. He prayed that his followers would be guarded by the authority and power of God, protected from isolation and fragmentation in their bond of brotherhood.
I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given me; for they are Yours; And all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are mine; and I have been glorified in them.
And I am no more in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. Verses 9-11
Jesus knew the impact of no longer being able to walk the earth with his followers. He commits the welfare and life of his followers to the Father amid their despair and confusion because of his death. He prayed for his followers throughout the Gospel Age, and also committed us to the care of the Father through every experience of despair and challenge. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3,5
What joy there is in being prayed for by Jesus, and being committed to the strong and loving hand of the Father. What joy there is in knowing that they stand for our victory in the bond of their own fellowship.
What joy there is in committing those we love to this divine care.
May the God of peace sanctify you entirely, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
