Jesus' Last Prayer part 4

Jesus did not pray to be taken out of ‘the world’—or to be delivered out of the necessary experiences at the hand of the ‘god of this world’, the Prince of Darkness.
He prayed for the Father’s name to be glorified. John 12:27-28
Jesus does not pray for us to be delivered out of our crucible of testing, as we face the influences and temptations and opportunities to shine in a world full of darkness.
He prays for our steadfast strength to stand in the light.
Amen.
#229 Jesus' Last Prayer and the Joy that Prayer Imparts John 17 #4
Jesus was aware of the future hardships for these followers and for those throughout the Gospel Age. He spoke of many of these events in his prophecies regarding testing of the Gospel age and the testings that would take place during his parousia in Matthew 24. Aware of the extremity of the testing and difficulty, he does not pray for the removal of these crucible challenges, but for our divine protection from evil and sanctification strength through the keeping power of God.
While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have give me; and I guarded them, and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil.
Verses 12-15
There is great joy of being born through the adversity! It is the joy of PROVING the depths of divine commitment, and the privilege of demonstrating our own.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you. For I am the LORD your god, the Holy One of Israel, you Savior….” Isaiah 43:2-3
There is great joy in being able to pray for those amid their adversity, knowing that unfailing wisdom and love will support them through every experience.
“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
