Jesus' Last Prayer part 8

As the Father and the Son look down upon the darkness of this world
may we be an oasis of Light in our small Memorial gatherings
as we testify to the truth about the depths of love and blessing
in the sacrifice of Christ…
Much love and prayers in this Memorial Season,
Joy
#233 Jesus' Last Prayer and the Joy that Prayer Imparts John 17 #8
He stood with them and prayed with them as a group for a few final moments, feeling their love and belief in contrast to the darkness and unbelief of the world, as an oasis of light and fellowship in a dark world.
O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have know You; and these have known that You did send me;
There is the great joy of knowing the truth behind the darkness of the permission of evil, the joy of knowing the heart of God and His passion for deliverance through Christ.
There is the joy of God and Christ to have a light that proclaims their full love until Jesus returns in full glory.
There is the great joy we have as we reflect that light.
His prayer drew to a close with the declaration that he had made know the Father’s character and cause to his followers, and that he would continue to make it known regardless of the cost in the hours ahead. He stated his motivation clearly: he would continue to fulfill the will of the Father in the hours ahead, come what may, so that his love and commitment to the Father and the Son would also be experienced and replicated in them.
And I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith You did love me may be in them, and I in them. Verses 25-26
There is the joy of giving as Jesus gave, regardless of the cost, so that others can be supremely blessed.
There is the joy of sharing Jesus complete commitment to the Father in every facet of life.
“O send out Thy light and Thy truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Thy holy hill,
And to Thy dwelling places.
Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And upon the lyre I shall praise Thee, O God, my God.” Psalm 43:4
