#704 Looking Forward: Making Isaiah 40.27-31 my own Part 2
Some thoughts from the context of Isaiah 40:31
V27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “May way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”?
Though Your answer may be hidden from me, there is nothing hidden from You, Lord.
I know You see my way—my path, my journey and its challenges.
And You Know what is Best. Job 23:8-10
V28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
You are My God, the Everlasting God, the God who keeps His Promises, the Creator of all Life;
You are never weary or too tired to respond to the needs of Your people! Philippians 4:19
We cannot measure the depths of Your wisdom and understanding. Romans 11:33
V29 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.
You know how to give us strength when we’re weary;
(Isaiah 50:4: Jesus fulfilled this verse during his earthly ministry,
and he fulfills it now on our behalf in glory!)
You know how to empower us when we’re weak.
V30-31 Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly,
Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength;
They will mount up with winds like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
We will wait on Him and He will renew our strength in three aspects of our spiritual journey,
as we go from one degree of strength to the next (Psalm 84:7):
He empowers us to soar above the fray on the wings of His uplifting Truth and Promises;
An example of His Word lifting our perspective from fear to trust--
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise- in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3-4 NIV
He empowers us to run—to run the race with resilience; Hebrews 12:1-3
He empowers us to walk--to take one step at a time, and not become weary.
Isaiah 43:2; Psalm 23:4
