#703 Looking Forward: Making Isaiah 40:27-31 my own
(My verse for this new year)
I’ll start with Isaiah 40:31. I have felt the need for renewed strength with challenges at work and life. The Lord led me to this verse when I came across a song I had written a number of years ago based on this verse. (I think I have already shared the words to the song in these meditations, but will share them again soon.)
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
And they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
“So these learn, as they are guided by the Word of the Lord, that they are to be of good courage as they pursue their on-ward way. There are many difficulties to be surmounted, and it requires courage to surmount difficulties. But the courage born of faith in God and in his ‘exceeding great and precious promises’ strengthens them when otherwise they might be overwhelmed. It gives them a strength to which all others are strangers.” R5712
I pray to mount with the wings of the uplifting power of the Truth and Promises He has given us, above all overwhelm, trusting and waiting on Him.
