#435 Made Strong to Listen Daniel 10.19
“He said, ‘Have no fear, precious man, all will be well with you; be strong, be strong!” As he spoke with me, I was strengthened, and said, ‘Speak on, my lord, for you have strengthened me.’ Daniel 10:19
As testified the prophet who was himself beloved, our strength comes from trusting in the Lord. There he was tested in a den of lions and by the revealed secrets of the Lord. We have trials of faith all our own, just exactly what is needed to be beloved of God too. Have you not found the peace of God in the storms of your life? Have you not been strengthened in heart by the Word of God discoursing preciousness there…? Bro. Ron
Daniel was very troubled about the vision of what would be happening to his people. The angel strengthened him so that he was open to hear the interpretation he feared.
O LORD, strengthen us to face the unfolding events that we may fear. We want our hearts to be open to hear Your will. We are assured and encouraged: “Be strong, yes be strong.”
And our response is:
‘Speak my Lord, for you have empowered me to listen and to accept Your words.’
Daniel 10:19b
When we surrender our old thinking to the captivity of Christ, the thought is ‘cast down,’ the thought is demolished and loses its power. We are empowered to cast down or remove reasonings that are not in harmony with God, and we surrender every thought to the power and authority of Christ. Our thoughts becomes sanctified and made new. Romans 12:2 The mind we have is renewed to think HIS thoughts.
Every old thought and pattern of thinking is to be put under the authority and of Christ. I love the thought behind the word ‘obedience:’ (attentive hearkening) . When our mind is under authority to Christ, we listen attentively to his voice, and make the thoughts of the mind of Christ our own.
‘Speak my Lord, for you have empowered me to listen and to accept Your words.’ Daniel 10:19b Speak Lord, for you have empowered me to make these words my own.
May we be made strong to listen as our Precious Savior:
“The Lord GOD has opened my ear; and I was not disobedient, nor did I turn back.”
Isaiah 50:5
