Many preachers say Jesus is coming soon, while there are no clear signs of it. Is it a scare tactic to make people do what they want?
Answer:
Israel being a nation is the biggest sign we have. Matt. 24: talks about the fig tree putting forth leaves and the generation that sees it will not pass till all is fulfilled—my parents are of that generation.
Israel needed to be a nation for Psalm 83 to come to pass—we are in process of that being fulfilled right now. Psalm 83 has to do with Israel and her Arab neighbors who want to destroy her and push her into the sea (those very words are the words the Arabs use against Israel) Israel doesn’t have to lift a finger—they are destroying themselves.
Israel needs to be at peace with her Arab neighbors for Ezekiel 38,39 to happen because the enemy is not the Arabs—but European Muslims, Russian Muslims.
(Dan 12:1, Zech 12, 14, Ezek 38,39)
Daniel 12 talks about the end times and says :
Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
To my way of understanding this sounds exactly like our day.
I don’t know what scriptures others use, but these very clearly show me that we are in the End Times.
My motives are different than most. Most Christians feel if you don’t accept Jesus now before he comes, you will burn forever in hell.—so yes that is a scare tactic—because that is not what the scriptures teach.
The Bible teaches a Kingdom, where God’s will is done on the earth as it is in heaven. It teaches that the faithful Christian will be kings and priests in that Kingdom. It teaches a resurrection of all mankind which the Kings and priests will work with and instruct and bring back into harmony with God.
They may see we are in the End Times, just as at Jesus’ first advent the people were in expectation—but they didn’t know what to look for and what to expect—which is why they later crucified him. Many Christians are in that same boat now.
