#269 My Always Faithful God
Job 23.10
“Behold, I go forward but He is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him.
But He knows the way I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:8-10
Sometimes we do not understand the process. Sometimes we do not FEEL His presence with us.
Sometimes God seems silent. Sometimes we define our infinite God by our finite feelings.
“Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel,
‘My way is hidden from the LORD, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God’? Isaiah 40:27
But He is still God, everlastingly consistent, true to His promises and vastly creative.
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD,
the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired.” Isaiah 40:28
His understanding is inscrutable.
There is no dilemma or circumstance beyond His wisdom!
He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lack might He increases power.”
He responds to our needs for strength and inspiration. Isaiah 40:28b-29
We may not understand the process, but we understand WHO He is, and we can trust His intention.
But He knows the way I take; when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
We know He knows—He knows our circumstance, our emotional frame, our limitations and our strengths.
We know He is refining our faith to reflect the image of His Son. 1 Peter 1:6-7; Romans 8:29
We know that He knows how to finish what he has begun. Philippians 1:6
“It is not for us to supervise the trials and difficulties which may beset us. It is for us to make an unreserved consecration of ourselves to the Lord, and then leave to Him the decision of how great shall be our trials and besetments—how great our sacrifices in following His leadings. R2416
I trust You in the New Year, Lord, to know my deepest needs.
I trust You to know what is best. And therefore I surrender to You my habit to assume the negative and my habit to label what I do not understand or what I do not like as negative.
Why should I let my up and down emotions and my narrow opinions define my Always Faithful God?
We are back from a wonderful visit with my family. Back to many employment and personal challenges.
And back with a renewed desire to Trust Him, come what may.
Much love in Christ,
Joy
