#277 No More Reruns and No More Previews! Isaiah 52.12
Our business was broken into last night. There were acts of vandalism as well as a missing computer, lap top and I-Pad. I want to know who did this, and I would feel safer if they were apprehended by the Law.
It is a temptation to worry about what happened and to worry about the future. Of coarse we must take appropriate action. But dwelling in fear of the past or the future is debilitating.
The Lord reminds me, no reruns and no previews (!) because “the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:12
He is guarding over our future and our past, leaving us to live in the present.
“Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of clouds also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.” Exodus 14:19
He is travelling with us. He knows the need of the present moment.
He is able to deal with what lies ahead and with what lies behind.
When we do not sense His leading, it may be time to stand still and experience His protection, just where we are.
The Cloud, the evidence of leading may change to a cloud that shrouds and barricades us from danger.
What appears as light to us appears as darkness to those outside our camp.
The bright pillar of the cloud prevented the people of Israel from seeing the armies that pursued them. We do not need to SEE the details, and know who, and how many are in the opposing army. We need to see the assurance of His presence and protection on our behalf.
“If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered him up for us all—can we not trust such a God to give us, with him, everything else that we can need?” Romans 8:31-32 (NASB/Phillips)
