#696 Our True Source of Stability in Trying Times
I find myself feeling unstable at times, and craving stability.
That is the time to seek the True source of Stability.
“Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.” Psalm 62:1-3
The Rock—the stability and Truth in Christ is the only True Stability!
And I must stop looking for stability in circumstance!
May we abide in the Stability and Truth that is higher—superior--
to any scenario we could wish for!
“We who have fled to him for refuge can have GREAT CONFIDENCE (MIGHTY ENCOURAGEMENT) as we hold onto (seize) THE HOPE SET BEFORE us.” Hebrews 8:18 NLT
Confidence and Mighty Encouragement come from expectation—what we expect or hope.
Fear and anxiety can also come from expectation. So in the uncertain events in our country and in our world is it VERY important that we HOLD FIRMLY ONTO OUR HOPE “this hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil…” Hebrews 8:19
“My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my expectation is from him.” Psalm 62:5
Let us make sure that we are dwelling in the expectation from HIM,
and not on other agendas and perceptions.
Dear LORD, sanctify our expectations!
May YOUR HOLY EXPECTATIONS—YOUR PROMISES AND PLAN FOR THE BLESSING OF OUR SPIRITUAL FAMILY, AND FOR THE BLESSING FOR ALL OUR HUMAN FAMILY, BE OUR FOCUS!
