#344 Passover Perspectives Exodus 12: The Deliverance that will Never Be Forgotten
A memorial “You shall also observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt; therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as a permanent ordinance.” Exodus 12:7
“Now this day will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.” Exodus 12:14 (Memorial: #2146, a momento, from #2142: to mark, remember.)
There are two deliverances pictured in the Passover account. The first is the passing over of the firstborn, picturing the deliverance of the followers of Christ, the Church of the Firstborn. Hebrews 12:23 The second deliverance is pictured by the nation of Israel as a whole, who passed over the Red Sea, free from the power of Pharoah and his rulership. (Exodus 15:8-13, 16-18, 19) After the deliverance of the Firstborns in Christ comes the deliverance of Israel and the world of mankind passing over the Highway of Holiness into the full liberty of the sons of God. Romans 8:18-22; Isaiah 35
We will never forget the miracle of our deliverance, even to the ends of eternity.
The nation of Israel (who will be joined by the other nations) will never forget their deliverance. Isaiah 14:1-2; 25:6-9 The very nation who rejected the Messiah will accept their Messiah and fulfill the plan of God for the deliverance of the world. Romans 11:15 Israel’s rejection of Christ and therefore his death results in the reconciliation of the world, and Israel’s acceptance of Christ will mark the beginning of the resurrection of the world. Romans 11:25-27; Zechariah 12:8-9, 10-14 The nation that rejected him will be the first nation delivered by him!
The remainder of our human family will never forget, once they are blessed and healed.
“Now it will come about that in the last days, the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And may peoples will come and say, ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us concerning His ways, and that we may walk in His paths.’ For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And He will judge between the nations, and will render decisions for many peoples; and they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they learn war.” Isaiah 2:1-4
“And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore also God highly exalted him, and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:8-11
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom
and might and honor and glory and blessing.”
And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth
and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying,
“To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,
be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” Revelation 5:12-13
