#200 The Path to Peace Romans 11.34 Part 2
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” Romans 11:33-36
“Who has ever given to God that God should repay him?” Who first gave to him, and it shall be recompensed to him?
First gave: #4272: to give before the other party has given
Recompensed: to requite good or evil; Vines: to give back as an equivalent, to requite, recompense, expressing the idea of a complete return.
Who has given before God has given, in order to completely repay Him? OR in order to be completely repaid by him, as if we deserved His blessing because we were the first to give??? No one. He is the First Cause, the giver of all life, and the author of all blessing and deliverance.
Who first gave to Him that what we give will completely pay him back?
The answer: For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
Out of him are all things: He is the source of all life and blessing, the creator of the promise to Abraham, His commitment to use both natural and spiritual Israel as a vehicle of blessing to all the nations of earth. Romans 8:26-28
And through Him are all things: He creates the way to bring this blessing about. He created an ‘unlikely’ way, by having all the nation of Israel and all the world be shut up together 4788 in disobedience, that He might show mercy to all through Christ the Deliverer. Romans 11:22
And unto him are all things: To Him be the glory to the ages. His depth of wisdom will eventually bring all our human family to their knees in gratitude. We have the honor of worshipping Him now, in awe of Who He Is and the deliverance He stands for.
When we resist God’s design for our thoughts we can spin into great confusion and chaos.
His design is for us to Trust Him when the pieces of the puzzle don’t seem to fit, amid the experiences that seem contrary to his Love and Wisdom.
His design for us is to trust Him with the permission of evil in our lives.
His design is for us to Trust Him when we cannot Trace Him through impassability and impossibility.
He created us with the need to trust Him. Trust is what will bring fulfillment and peace to the stormy heart, not trying to figure out what is beyond our ability to figure out…
Let’s let God be God so that we can give Him the glory He deserves.
