#475 Patient Waiting in the Face of Challenge
There was a turn of events at work that created a sense of foreboding, because I could not see beyond the current disappointment and appearance of the circumstance. The LORD directed me to Psalm 71:14 through an email sent by a dear Brother.
“O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” Psalm 71:12, 14 KJV
“My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not is measure. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD;
I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.” NIV Psalm 71:15-16
Prayer paraphrase of Psalm 71:12, 14-16
O God, my mighty One, be near to me;
I need your help and surrounding protection in this moment.
I will wait and be patient continually and constantly in challenging experience.
I will choose to focus on your righteousness and on your deliverance in each next moment,
though it is impossible to know and number the scope of that righteousness and deliverance.
I will go forward in the power and victory of the Sovereign God who keeps His promises;
I will mark and remember Your righteousness above all others.
How often we see the present dilemma, and judge the outcome by what we see in the moment.
Part of WAITING on the LORD and being patient is allowing the TIME and PROCESS of the LORD to unfold.
“As some ignorantly misjudge the skill and wisdom of a great architect and builder by his unfinished work, so also many in their ignorance now misjudge God by His unfinished work; but by and by, when the rough scaffolding of evil, which has been permitted for man’s discipline, and which shall finally be overruled for his good, has been removed, and the rubbish cleared away, God’s finished work will universally declare His infinite wisdom and power; and His plans will be seen to be in harmony with His glorious character.” A65
O may waiting on the LORD with patience override any premature perceptions we may have about world events as well as our own present experience!
"And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You. Psalm 39:7
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:24-26
KNOWING by faith that all things are working together for good, may we not judge the LORD and His Workmanship by His unfinished work!!! for ourselves or for our Brethren.
