#624 Paul’s Focus in Prison: Part 5a Never give up praying for one another!
“I thank God continually for you and I never give up praying for you; and this is my prayer…. Ephesians 1:16
Like Paul, let us never give up praying for one another. “Pray with unceasing prayer and entreaty on every fitting occasion in the spirit, and be always on the alert to seize opportunities for doing so, with unwearied persistence and entreaty on behalf of all God’s people…” Ephesians 6:18
“And ask on my behalf that words may be given to me so that, outspoken and fearless, I may make known the truths (hitherto kept secret) of the Good News” (Ephesians 6:18-19 Weymouth) “for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:20 NIV
Paul asked for prayers for fearlessness and boldness.
May we remember one another with these prayers for courage to seize opportunities to let our light shine! Matthew 5:14-16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Peter 2:9
“I thank God continually for you and I never give up praying for you; and this is my prayer…. That God, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and the all-glorious father, will give you spiritual wisdom and the insight to know more of him: that you may receive that inner illumination of the spirit which will make you realize how great is the hope to which he is calling you--the magnificence and splendor of the inheritance promised to Christians--
and how tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God. That power is the same divine energy which was demonstrated in Christ when he raise him from the dead and gave him the place of supreme honour in Heaven—a place that is infinitely superior to any conceivable command, authority, power or control, and which carries with it a name far beyond any name that could ever be used in this world or the world to come.” Ephesians 1:16-22 Philipps
Let us pray that each one of us would gain the spiritual insight to know more of both the Father and the Son, and that we might realize the greatness and magnificence of our hope and our inheritance.
O let us pray to experience the tremendous resurrection power of Christ in our lives. Colossians 3:1; Ephesians 2:6 The holy spirit’s power in our life defies the power of death and darkness and hopelessness! with the power of life!
