#481a Plow my Thoughts
“Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life my lips shall praise thee.”
Psalm 63:3 This present life does not compare with the Faithful Covenant Love of God that plans to bless and deliver!
Therefore my lips shall praise thee:
Therefore I am willing to use this present life to praise You in thought and word and deed, even at the cost of life itself.
Your unfailing love is better than my most cherished resentments, irritations, and views that I am so sure I am right about.
Therefore I surrender my old stories on pain, on how I have been wronged, on how this or that is so irritating, etc., etc., etc.
In the place of these old ways of thinking I will see Your perspective and Truth
and praise You by thinking and expressing Your Thoughts which are so much higher than mine!
Plow my thoughts
“O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your Praise.” Psalm 51:5
When our lips are open, (loosened, carved, ploughed),
we are able to speak and declare His praises. He must plow our thoughts first!
This is the humility that embraces the cost of His Wisdom.
O may we welcome the unsettling experiences that bring upheaval
to our familiar habits of thinking and challenge us to embrace His will.
