#604 Proving His Name to His Glory
“Since you are my rock and fortress, for the sake of Thy name, lead me and guide me.” Psalm 31.3
His NAME represents who He is and what He stands for, a God of Truth, Chesed Covenant Love and Affection, Power, Justice with a heart for deliverance. He WILL be true to that name—those attributes. He continually proves His Faithfulness to us.
The process of proving begins with His proving and testing of His people, see Deuteronomy 8:1-2, 3-5, etc! “The LORD your God is testing you to find out if you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” The word ‘test’ means to prove: to recognize as genuine after examination, to approve, deem worthy. This PROVING process creates evidence and proof of the genuineness.
When we surrender to His power and truth in this testing and proving process in our thinking and actions we PROVE His skill in our character building sanctification process. (In our experience and challenge we recognize Him as genuine and faithful, over and over.) “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, let him speak, as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
O LORD, we want to PROVE Your skill by surrendering to Your power and guidance.
It is all to Your glory as You transform us in our weakness through Your strength,
as You work through the earthen vessel to produce a character that can be entrusted with immortality. “We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God [AND TO HIS GLORY!] and not from ourselves…” 2 Corinthians 4:7
It is such a privilege to set our hearts and minds TO PROVE His Faithfulness by trusting Him, a testimony witnessed by both men and by angels, to the Glory of His Name. 1 Corinthians 4:9
It can help to proclaim our determination: I will PROVE and manifest the Faithfulness of My Heavenly Father in this experience by trusting Him, come what may!
