#424 Rejoice in the Road Psalm 119.14
We do not know what the road ahead holds for us, but we can rejoice in that road because He is leading us on that road through His testimonies.
“I seek you with all of my heart;
Do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.
I rejoice in following your statues as one rejoices in great riches.
[KJV I have rejoiced in the way [path, road] of thy testimonies…]
I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect [mislay] your word.”
Psalm 119:10-16
It is a matter of focus: Psalm 119:10-16 paraphrased:
I seek you with all of my heart and affections,
and so I let go of attachment to outcomes.
I will express my praise to You,
and your willingness to teach me Your will and Your ways.
I rejoice to follow Your will, regardless of consequences.
I will rejoice in the road! I walk this road guided by Your Truth.
I am so spiritually wealthy and blessed as I follow Your will.
This relationship with You is my treasure.
I will think about Your principles of truth and love.
I will not mislay you word.
The word “mislay” means: to unintentionally put an object where it cannot readily be found and so lose it temporarily.
I will not let the clutter and crisis in life divert my attention from You and Your will.
