#478 Rewriting our Negative Memories and Thoughts Psalm 19.14 Part 2
A testimony
These thoughts and answers to prayer brought me to the point of Redefining Defining moments and past memories.
I am so blessed by the LORD's unfailing love and patience to get me to the point of the desire and the ability to “rewrite” my past old ways of thinking in regard to how I define myself. He led me to see that amid gratitude for His leadings there was a focus on the negative that needed to be changed. We are HIS WORKMANSHIP (Ephesians 2:10) THROUGH HIS USE of our victories and our mistakes...He is near to me and my sadness and sometimes discouragement in regard to past memories. AND HE DELIGHTS to REVIVE me, and for all my life I have been resisting His heart's desire to revive me and make me whole in this area. Isaiah 57:14-15 I hear the voice of Jesus and my Heavenly Father asking me: Will you let me revive you in this distracting discouragement?
My answer is yes, and They are showing me how!
A few of the thoughts from the convention that He used to get me to the next step:
Defining Moments: Brother Daniel Szarkowicz
*What defines us to ourselves? Psalm 139:23-24 Small moments that touch our heart and bring change
It could be a simple sentence.
*What we allow to fill our minds will show up in our lives Prov 4.23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Show me your mind and I will show you your future. We can’t fill mind with negativity and expect peace
*Col 3:1-2 Set your mind on high things to create a mindset. A mindset is deeply entrenched, repeatedly thinking until that perspective becomes second nature; we need to exchange old thoughts for new ones; we may need to change our environment like Abraham did when his left his own country.
*Colossians 3.6-16 What we need to put off and to put on to have peace
*Matthew 14:66-72 The cock crows at least once in everyone’s life. There is always a course of recovery Isa 57:13 He revives the spirit of the broken-hearted; The heart has to break or we will not repent and receive His mercy. May the cock not crow a second time.
*It’s not what happens that defines us but what we do with what happens
Bro Dan Wesol O For a Faith that Will Not Shrink
*How much spiritual discipline is required for strong development as an athlete in the Olympics? It is a way of life. We need to LIVE in good works. Eph 2:8-10
*A dear Sister made the observation that faith is like a muscle: must be used or it will atrophy.
*The Christian diet is what we dwell on and what we think on. Philippians 4:8-9
You are what you eat! Cannot overcome without consistent strength; watch out for spiritual junk food!!!
*Muscle memory: easier to perform when we practice
*Don’t let injuries and past failures define us;
Know Thyself Brother Michael Costelli
*Our default way of thinking that we are comfortable with. But we can’t trust the human mind; we hide things from ourselves; denial and blame hides the truth about us. Jeremiah 10.23
*Be brutally honest and don’t be discouraged once we learn the truth: approve of the process He uses! We are HIS workmanship!
How he wants us to examine and make change:
Psalm 139:23-24 Ask God to search me and lead me;
*Cleanse me from secret faults Psalm 19:12 We need Divine Grace to reveal our thoughts!!!
Let the words of my mouth and meditations of my heart be acceptable…Psalm 19
*We have no right or skill to define ourselves; Allow him to lead us to define ourselves. Brother Robert Gorecki
