#381 Safe in His Compassions Lamentations 3.22
This was the Lord’s leading for my focus when I was feeling afraid of the unknown and possible outcomes.
“This I recall to mind, therefore have I hope” Lamentations 3:21
Recall this to mind, turn around your thoughts, with the result of having hope
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.” Lamentations 3:22
Compassions: #7356: compassion in the plural, by extension the womb (as cherishing the foetus)
Fail not #3615: to end, cease, be finished, perish
Turn your thoughts to the kind mercy of the God who keeps His promises:
Turn your thoughts around to the cherishing of God for you.
These compassions protect you with a bond similar to a mother with child.
We are safe in the womb of the Sarah covenant.
“They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.”
These compassions are new with the break of every day.
His trustworthiness is abundant.
“The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.” Lamentations 3:24
My mind declares that the God who keeps His promises is my inheritance.
Though in exile as a pilgrim and a stranger, I am not homeless.
The God who keeps his promises has given me Himself as my home, and this gives me hope.
“The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.” Lamentations 3:25
Turn your thoughts to waiting (#6960, to bind together (perhaps by twisting);
Wrap your heart and mind around Who He Is.
Seek him (#1875 follow, for pursuit or search).
Look for Him, search for Him in every experience.
Know the LORD rewards those who make Him their attachment, those who search and pursue His will and holiness.
“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” Lamentations 3:26
Wait and be still and silent for His deliverance.
Bring your fears and negative interpretations to Him, acknowledge them before him;
pour them out before Him and then experience the space of quiet confidence.
The answer to when we feel afraid of the unknown and possible outcomes:
We have absolutely known and trusted the love that God has for us. 1 John 4:16
