#387 Seeing Something New Isaiah 43.19
I was dealing with employees that were intensely angry and reactive toward another employee. We had some serious discussions with some disciplinary action. I could not imagine there would be any change of attitude. My heart and mind went often to the Lord remembering how thoroughly trustable He is through all things.
“Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 112:4,7 I prayed to accept whatever the outcome that HE would permit or overrule.
What the LORD worked out really surprised me: both employees came back the next day with the intention of working with the situation. One of the employees went to the third with a sincere apology, and then also apologized to the whole crew at break for his negative influence. I felt such deep respect for this person.
There is a long road ahead in this scenario, with many relationship challenges. I will continue to pray for these three, and to make myself available for communication and problem solving feedback.
I am reminded of how HIS MERCIES are NEW every morning, (Lamentations 3:22-23) and ours can be too.
It’s easy to ‘peg a person’ a certain way, and to judge a person as having no ability to change. But LORD leaves us the space to learn and change and we need to do that for one another. Sometimes our judgments can be so strong there is no room to see the signs of growth.
“Behold, I will do something new; now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
O Lord, open our eyes to see something new!
Thank you for this Kingdom on earth prophecy soon to come to pass, when all people will have the opportunity to choose to live new in Christ. Isaiah 32:1-5
And thank you for the privilege we have now, to experience your New Mercies each day and to renew our minds to see ourselves and others in this New light of Your power and possibility. Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 5:16-17
