#686 Serving by Night
A dear Sister responded to the meditation sent out on the Service of Praise: “What a wonderful thought of praising our Heavenly Father during the night. As we age, getting up during the night seems to be the norm rather than the exception. Now I will imagine the Levites composing and singing at night too. People won't see them, but they may hear them…Our Heavenly Father hears our sorrows and our praise. He wants us to look for the joy around us, and see the future possibilities thru His promises. Let our hearts sing together during the night. “
Amen! I was thinking about the appropriateness of praising the LORD in every circumstance as I was taking steps to flush our well out after it had been shock-treated with chlorine. I was in the dingy underground pump-house in the wee hours of the dark morning. This praise brightened the whole experience down there!
And I love the thought of our hearts singing together during the night.
Whether in the literal dark or the symbolic dark times of life, He deserves our praise ALL THE TIME!
“I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD;
The humble shall hear it and rejoice.” Psalm 34:1-2
And as she stated: “Let our hearts sing together during the night.”
“O magnify the LORD with me,
And let us exalt His name together.” Psalm 34:1-3
