#719 Some Keys to Dealing Faithfully with Criticism Part 1
It really helps to not take criticism personally.
There may be something to learn from criticism and we need to be open to that and open to making adjustments according to His Word and Will.
“Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.” Proverbs 9:9 “Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days.” Proverbs 19:20
But we should not let criticism and misunderstanding of others cloud our spiritual vision. Nothing has to separate us from the love of Christ, including criticism!
We don’t have to let criticism of others define us or get in the way of trusting the love of Christ for us.
Instead of taking criticism personally we need to take Romans 8:34-35 personally.
“What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how will He not also with him freely give us all things?
Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies;
Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is he who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:31-35
It is our responsibility to define ourselves and one another through the eyes and perception of our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus as we remain in obedience and openness to His will. Ephesians 2:10
And we must choose what we will take personally: negativity or the Promises of God?
We need to be selective regarding what we take personally!
