Surely the Lord is in this Place part 1

Good Morning!
I am leaving tomorrow am for 2 weeks in CT with my family.
The doctor thinks I am on the right track, and is not concerned about any results.
I will send part 2-4 when I get back.
Much love and blessing,
Joy
#212 Surely the Lord is in this place Genesis 28.16 Part 1
Rebekah spoke to her son in muted tones. Her voice was urgent. “Your brother Esau is consoling himself with the thought of killing you. Do what I say, my son. Flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran. Stay with him for a while until your brother’s fury subsides.” Rebekah had been told that Esau had purposed to wait until their father’s death, and then to kill his brother. Genesis 27:41 “When your brother is no longer angry with you and forgets what you did to him, I’ll send word for you to come back from there.” Rebekah sighed as she cradled Jacob’s face in her hands. “I couldn't stand to lose both my husband and my son all at once.”
Rebekah studied the lines in the face of her husband, Isaac. His eyes looked tired and she knew their days together would be few. “I am weary of life because of Hittite women.” Rebekah spared him the harsh reality that his beloved son Esau intended to kill his beloved son Jacob. “If Jacob marries a Hittite wife my life will not be worth living.” Genesis 27:46
So Isaac called Jacob to bless him and to give him some fatherly advice, that he not marry a Canaanite woman, but rather find a wife among the daughters of Laban. He prayed over his son with great emotion in his voice, certain that he would not see him again. “May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now live as an alien, the land God gave to Abraham.” Genesis 28:3
Here we have a mother and son who use deceit to claim a birthright, an angry brother ready to murder his brother, an old father who is about to die with neither son present, and the insecure young man on the run. And then we have the sure promise of God given to Jacob.
The God of Jacob is about to overrule a situation fraught with family conflict and grief for eternal training and lesson and the unfolding of His Plan.
Because His promises are sure, relationships and family conflicts hold such opportunity in the hand of God.
