#553 The Answer to Resistance: Trusting His Provision in the Process Part 2
“The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. Lam 3.25
“They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
There are a few possibilities of what the soaring, the running and the walking refer to.
Soaring: He imparts to us His lofty perspective.
Running: He energizes us to quickly go forward in Christ.
Walking: He gives us strength to go the distance so we can fulfill His purpose.
I was also fascinated by this possible perspective:
“Be patient till your wings are grown…You must indeed strive to fly, but gently, without growing eager or restless…. You must be willing not to fly, since your wings are not yet grown….go on quietly in your path—it is a good path.” From Joy and Strength
Perhaps, in different phases of experience of life, we experience all three of these ‘spiritual postures and actions’. All three ‘spiritual postures and actions’ are the result of waiting on the LORD. There may be times that we soar. There may be times that we run. There may be times that we walk. And there may be times when we resist the ‘spiritual posture and action’ that we are practicing.
The answer to this resistance is to trust that the LORD understands our ability in Him in each experience. Psalm 103:11-14 “They go from strength to strength; Every one of them appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:7
The LORD may be helping us to know that It’s okay to walk through some experiences.
“Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me. Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4
Whatever the height or ‘pace’ of our experience, the important thing is that our strength is renewed because we are confident in Him and trust Him. The important thing is that we are empowered to always go forward regardless of the challenge, and that we never give up!
We want always to soar. But maybe we need to accept when we run or when we walk, TRUSTING HIM AND HIS PROCESS, Trusting instead of resisting!
We need to trust that regardless of our need—for His High Perspective to rise above in triumph, for the spiritual energy to quickly obey and go forward, or for the fortitude needed press on in time for ‘the long haul’— He is able and willing to Provide and to renew our strength according to each need.
