#552 The Answer to Resistance: Trusting that what He allows is GOOD.
I realized recently that some of the overwhelm I was experiencing was because of resisting my experiences. I did not want to accept the turn of events, and had a strong preference and opinion of how things should be. Resistance is a form of fighting against God…!
The answer to resistance is Surrender.
I delight to do YOUR WILL, whatever that may be… Psalm 40:8
I will not waver, my heart is fixed, I will praise you in the present moment
for Your Checed Covenant Love and Affection is Great to the heavens, beyond what I can see or understand. Psalm 57:7-10
“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness (#4236) longsuffering; forbearing one another and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” Colossians 3:12
#4236 Prautes according to Vines: It is that temper of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting; it is closely linked with the word humility, and follows directly upon it, Eph 4.2 Col 3.12 (Zeph 3.12 ‘meek and lowly’)…it is only the humble heart which is also the meek, and which, as such, does not fight against God and more or less struggle and contend with Him.
“This is what the LORD says—the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:
Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?” Isaiah 45:11 NIV
Do we question His Wisdom?
Do we assume the worst?
Do we complain about what is?
A spirit of gratitude is the exercise of the spirit of Trust in His Covenant Affection and Love KNOWING that what he permits and overrules is GOOD and for Eternal Blessing.
“It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.’ Isaiah 45:12
He knows what He is doing!
‘I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness; I will make all his ways straight, He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the LORD Almighty.” Isaiah 45:13
He knows how to deliver us in Christ.
So whatever happens we can surrender to His Faithful Checed Love and Wisdom, knowing that what He allows is GOOD.
