#448 The Beauty of Brokenness Surrendered to Him
“In Japan, broken objects are often repaired with gold;
the flaw is seen as a unique piece of the objects history,
which adds to its beauty.
Consider this when you feel broken.”
My brother commented on this quote: “The brokenness of our lives honors Him
when we bring the brokenness to Him and let HIM fill in the gaps.”
When He fills in the gaps, His strength is made perfect in our weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Weakness and brokenness surrendered to Him gives Him the opportunity to heal our hearts.
What a testimony of triumph and how it brings honors Him.
We are left with the marks of His Loving Deliverance embedded upon what was ‘broken.’
“And in the meantime you are guarded by the power of God
operating through your faith,
till you enter fully into the salvation
which is all ready for the denouement [completion] of the last day.
This means tremendous joy to you, I know, even though at the present
you are temporarily harassed by all kinds of trials and temptations.
This is no accident—it happens to prove your faith,
which is infinitely more valuable than gold, and gold, as you know,
even though it is ultimately perishable, must be purified by fire.
This proving of your faith is planned to result in praise and honour and glory
in the day when Jesus Christ reveals himself.” 1 Peter 1:5-7
