The Beauty of Perfection Wrapped in Flaw

#331 The Beauty of Perfection Wrapped in Flaw 2 Corinthians 4.7
We don’t have to be perfect to be Beautiful.
My sister sent me a video about a week before my Dad passed. He had begun to spontaneously sing in the elevator of the facility he was in. He sang the chorus “Glory, Glory Hallelujah, Our King is marching on.” Strapped in his wheel chair, his singing was LOUD, his words labored and slurred, the notes off key.
And in that moment I saw Pure Beauty and Praise.
We don’t have to be perfect to be Beautiful to God, or to one another.
Over and over my Dad taught me through his Alzheimer’s ,
that efforts wrapped in limitation and flaw,
done with a heart that truly loves God, are Beautiful.
God sees us through eyes of Love, through Christ. Romans 5:1-2; 8:1
“For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him.
As east is far from west, so far has He removed our sins from us.
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion for those who fear Him.
For He knows how we are formed; He is mindful that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:11-14 Tenach
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves.” 2 Corinthians 4:7
“…you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink, but with the spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts…
being transformed into the same image from glory to glory… 2 Corinthians 3:3, 18
There is beauty of ‘perfection’ wrapped in flaw is because our flaw is wrapped in his Perfection.
What do we see when we see the efforts of others, wrapped in limitation and flaw?
What do we see when we see our own?
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.
O may we see with the Eyes of God.
